The historic market town of Wimborne Minster is an enticing blend of old and new; a ‘Fairtrade’ town where high quality modern stores and charming independent boutiques sit side by side in hidden courtyards and pedestrianised squares. The colourful Town Square and attractive High Street offer a diverse mix of clothing, furnishings, gifts, jewellery, crafts, books music, flower and antique shops as well as all those handy food, hardware and everyday stores.
It is in the Town Square that on the Fourth Sunday of each month, the blue and white gazebos are gathered to welcome the monthly Art, Design, Antiques and Vintage Market. An eclectic mix of new and old treasures and works of art, just waiting to be discovered by the locals and tourists alike.
This truly is a lovely venue to wander between the stalls, barter with the vendors, find that special gift, or you might grab yourself a genuine antique work of art, some fifties haut couture or some jewellery that grandma used to wear.
You can have a great family day out shopping the market, then there are some great places to lunch or share a glass or two before exploring the historic Minster or the Priests House Museum and 1/10 Model Town.
