In Dorset, there has been a street market in the heart of this Saxon Market Town of Christchurch for more than a hundred years.
For the last 15 years SMT have set up the stalls every Monday from the Priory roundabout, all along the High Street to the Fountain roundabout.
This year 2015 heralds the advent of a new era in the history of the street market here as we introduce the blue and white gazebos along the high street on the second Sunday of each month to house a new kind of vendor, the talented artists, makers and traders of treasures from a bygone era.
We will showcase local talent. Fine Art, Ceramics, Jewellery old and new, Shabby Chic Furniture, Retro Fashion and Gadgets and all manner of 20th Century Collectibles will be on offer. You can barter direct with the creators of original pieces and maybe grab yourself a bargain.
One thing is for sure – there will be all manner of gems on offer here. It will be a great day out for the locals and the many tourists who visit the town.
